Hey-
I have a 6-bolt motor that I am rebuilding to swap into my 2g GSX. It comes with the big rods, but I've been debating about getting forged eagle rods. There is a nick on one of the pistons, so I'm gonna be replacing them for sure. I want reliability and power, but more emphasis on reliability. Would a forged rod/piston combo be ok for that?
Also, how would 1g pistons be with forged 8.5:1 pistons? I did a search and got mixed results. Anyone have experience with that? I don't want to put 2g pistons on them because the cost of machining costs as much as forged 1g pistons, and its also another margin of error.
I only plan on maxing out my e16g, so I dont' want an 'overbuilt' engine. Price is not an issue with anything, but I don't want to over-spend and buy things that aren't necessary.
Thanks!

Of course it has to be right on the money....
