6 bolt engine

I just bought a 95 eclipse. From what I gather it is a 7 bolt engine. How much would it cost to buy a 6 bolt and how hard would it be to swap? The car has 118000 miles on it. No indication of crank walk...

Then why are you talking about a new motor? There is no set price. You could spent a few hundred or ten thousand. This is a dead horse subject. How hard is subjective based on your mechanical skills. We cant answer that either. Its a proven swap with all the hurdles worked out by vendors. Nothing you need to "figure out" its all been done.

Dont fix what isn't broken. If youre gunning for a race car build then some goals need to be set before questions can be answered. If the car just needs a new stock motor that is the lowest cost option. If youre a professional racer who is getting into dsms and want to break records you can spent 15k or more on a motor.
Just for the record you need to change some wiring, to swap this motor. If you come across anything suggesting custom machining of an oil pump ignore it. That is the hard way and likely the first way it was ever done 20 years ago.

Why? For fear of crankwalk? Any motor can crankwalk. Personally, when one of my 7 bolts (96) spun a rod bearing I replaced it with a built 7 bolt.
And if my other 7 bolt ever takes a shit I will replace it with a preferably 98-99 7 bolt.
IMO the 6 bolt swap is a headache and by 98 the "problem" was fixed.

Thanks for your feedback guys. I appreciate your time and input. Sorry to beat a dead horse I am new to DSM's. I wish I had bought one years ago though. It is an awesome car. I wish they still made them.

Yup I second that the 7bolt motor now a days if built right just as good if not better than the 6 bolts
