Hey all,

Just wanted to ask if anyone has bought a 6 bolt engine block build from JNZ Tuning? I am looking/comparing all the main names (English, Magnus, JNZ, Map) and none of them really want to touch my 7 bolt, so I am looking into a 6 bolt build. Most of the engines average the same price depending on options, and I am looking at all forged internals. So can anyone suggest one company over the other? The Vendor Feedback showed good on the companies...So is it just down to preference/warranties? Just trying to get a good idea of the options and your feedback.

Thanks

Use who ever is closest to you. Magnus is probably the best... But also maybe the most expensive. Ive been to their shop a few times and thats where I'll be sending my spare block for machining. I'll be doing the assembily.

Nothin wrong with any of the companies though. Well i dunno about MAP.

They probably dont wanna touch your 7 bolt even cause the risk of CW.
STM might buikd your 7 bolt though.

I am a huge fan of the 7 bolt engine and would love to build yours for you. The 99 block is also the strongest(which is really does not matter that much in my eyes, I have always ran 95 blocks) of the DSM 7 bolt family. Please contact me for more information and we can help you out with a build!

Is STM now offering engine builds?

LazyBoy - After several emails to each company they all responded with "we only use 6-bolt blocks" and I assume it's just due to the reputation from the 7 bolt crankwalk scare...Magnus has an interesting write up here -> Crankwalk Theory | Magnus Motorsports ... incase you were interested...And I have read up on some of the legit 7 bolts, so I am alright with either engine, especially since mine is the 99 version...I am just looking at what will best for my time/money...

Urbansmoker1 - Thank you for the feedback on the companies, I like Magnus a lot, and I will probably end up using several of their parts for my build...I will look into STM..Thanks

Viperlp01 - PM sent...Thanks and I am looking forward to talking to you.

Try asking Jackson Auto Machine and Force Engineering. And if nothing else contact member BogusSVO. He recently just posted a walkthrough on eliminating 7 bolt oil squirters which is one of the suspects of crankwalk so he must be working on them.

Volition, looks like you have talked to, or have been given the name of about most all the engine builders that build 4g63.

Any of them will do a solid build, and all have good reps.

It sounds like you are doing your homework and you have an idea on what you want.

About the only thing I can add at this point is trust your gut and go with the one that has the engine build theories that you agree with.

Crimsondragon, Yes I do build a few 7 bolts. Thanks for throwing my name in the mix.

Crimsondragon - Thank you for the info, I will check out Jackson and I am looking at Forced too.

BogusSVO - Thanks for the feedback on the companies. Also, thanks for all the posts you put up, I am reading them and going to attempt a few of your modifications.

I will get my build journal up here in a few weeks and begin the love-hate relationship with this car.

Take care
