On a new 95 Talon TSi AWD I just purchased I was driving home with 5th gear poping out after letting off accelerating. For awhile I thought it was a linkage problem until it started getting worse, until it would not stay in 5th gear at all. At this point I knew it was because the 36mm bolt came loose. I pulled over to get gas and I smelled tranny fluid, and then realized the bolt had backed out and punched a hole in the tranny cover on the passenger side. I was towed 40 miles home, and now I'm hoping I can just tighten the bolt and replace the cover.
My problem now is, I cannot find that transmission cover. A local mitsubishi dealer told me they dont make them anymore. Does anyone know where I can get one, and fast?
