Just finished doing a BLT, had a friend inside the car with the ignition on, looking at my boost gauge, while I sent air through the turbo, looking at the gauge on the tester. both gauges went up at the same time, but stopped at 5 psi, with the compressor set to 25 psi. Sprayed soapy water everywhere, no leaks. does this sound normal?

nothings leaking out and it holds 5-7 psi for 30secs or so after you take off the tester

You have a leak. It should build until something blows. If it "stops" building pressure than you have a leak.

well I guess this has to be because I didn't move the timing marks to any specific spot before doing the BLT. Wouldn't this throw off the test?

still trying to identify where 30*ATDC on the crank actually is

EisHere yes you are correct.

1Gina2g you can go to Google and search 'nherron dsmtuners 30 atdc' and youll find out, its pretty simple. I would explain here but I'm on the phoneular.

But really most of the time the engine lands out of overlap everytime the car is shut off so I wouldnt worry so much.
