2G 5pin Power Window Switch Install?

Hi, I’ve put aluminum door panels in my car and they came with 5 pin window switches.

it seems that the factory wiring must use a relay somewhere as there are always 4 wires involved to make the window move.

To go up you must jump Pin 8 to Pin 9 (which then causes Pin 6 to become hot) and you jump Pin 6 to Pin 2.

To go down you must jump pin 8 to pin 6 (which then causes Pin 9 to become hot) and you jump Pin 9 to Pin 2

I’m stumped on how to recreate this with an aftermarket switch. Thinking I’m going to have to use relays? Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I am not so sure what exactly you want to do. But that connector you are checking already has a relayed power. but since you are no longer using the factory switch, you don't need to do that. Why don't you just connect the 5 pin switch to the window motor like the attached pic below? Wouldn't that work?

that second connector you show for the motor that’s just 2 pins where is that? When using only that 9 Pin connector that plugs in to the factory window/lock switch assembly the factory relay (I assumed there was one but wasn’t sure) definitely complicates the process as to go up You have to provide power to Pin 6 by way of jumping Pin 8 to Pin 9. If you give power directly to Pin 6 from Pin8 and you connect Pin 6 and Pin 2 the circuit overloads. Fortunately I didn’t cause any real damage trying this but my little jumper wire got fried.

so if I can take that factory switched power thing going on between pins 6,8,9 I believe what you showed will indeed work. But I didn’t see that 2 pin connector anywhere in the door.

Found the other connector guess I’m blind . About to test this out should be much easier now!

Can’t say why but when I tested using the 2 pin connector for the motor it wasn’t working but when configured like this it works great.

What you did is the same as I told you. #9 and #6 on the factory switch connector are the wires for the 2 pin power window motor connector. Anyways glad to know you figured it out.

Agreed that it’s the same solution and I can’t tell you why when I went directly to the motor I didn’t see the same result but in ecstatic to have it working. Thank you for the guidance!!!
