510CC Injectors Question????

Hello dsmers I just purchased some 510cc injectors from overseas off of a evo.. Im currently finishing up my build up on my Gst I know 550s are good for 18psi i believe but what are the yellow top 510cc injectors capable of.. Your responses& inputs would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Larry

Get a 190 fuel pump rewired and you should be good to go.

550's are good for more than 18psi. You can safely run ~17~ psi on stock 450cc injectors and stock fuel system as long as your logging and your IDC's are good, knock down, etc. I know of plenty of people running 25 or so psi on 550's (turbo variating) w/ out running short or injector.

It's hard to say what the 510's will be good to. It will really depend on the tune and what your logs show, and you IDC's. I strongly reccomend getting the injectors thoroughly cleaned prior to install to ensure proper flow. I would say at LEAST 20 psi safely w/ other supporting mods.

According to the DSM_Tuning_Sheet_v2.1.xls, at stock fuel pressure the 510s give enough fuel flow for about 40 more horsepower than the stock 450s or about 325 horsepower at the crank . Did you get them cheap? So you canot get to a boost level where you'll be over that horsepower at the crank. This is probably 19 or so psi with the stock cams. Get an afpr.

Well, if he plans on running 15 psi on a full T4 56-trim, he can still get away with 510s very easily. even at 18 psi. No matter what turbo you have. Compressor efficiency of 70% for one turbo and 77% for another will not usually make that much of a difference [see stealth316.com: 4th paragraph down from the sub-heading]. Buying 510s for a 56-trim is still foolish as you can run so much more boost to genereate the flow for so much more horsepower. You should pick an injector size based on your horsepower goal. Use the DSM_Tuning_Sheet_v2.1.xls as a guide to keep the injector duty cycle down.

Note: a 14B still has over 70% efficiency at 18+ psi. It is just spinning too fast for the center housing to last long.

Well first get the injectors super clean or send them somewhere to get cleaned. It's hard to say how much boost they're good for but on some good gas and a good tune, you'd be surprised. Just be loggin and watch your knock counts.

Hey guys, Thanks for all your replys.. I purchased the 510s becuz i did not want to buy 450s again and i got theese for 150.00 shipped. I didnt think that was two bad for the price. However I plan on running a 14b or the evo 3 16g if i can swing it in for a new one.. My cars been in buildup since last oct. when i bought it and brought it home.. I havent even gotten drive it yet.. bummer huh. ruff description what i have

eagle rods ,weisco pistons, new oil pump belts, tensioners.balance shaft removal, rebuilt head. aluminum flywheel, greddy blow off valve with custom intercooler piping still running a Side mount intercooler..

Im hoping run 18-19 on this set up providing I get a 255 a FPR and a SAFC. Im getting close two starting the car once my injectors show up and i get a turbo bolted up. . I was really wondering how the 510s would treat me and i appreiate your inputs. Thanks, Larry
