Show me which non-watercooled turbo they use and I will switch to it because I KNOW that I can trust them, not some schlock DSM turbo vendor who stole a turbo designed for a Diesel engine and slapped it onto a passenger car.
I have to side with pboglio on this one. Simply because of the short time I've been involved with DSM's, I've heard of more failed low mileage Garretts, then I have tried and true Mitsubishis. The 16G was designed for a car, it was made for a high performance gasoline 2.0L in mind - it is oil and water cooled. The Garrett bastard/frankenstein creations have no OEM reference point, other then on diesel engines that have other means to keep their oil cool. Besides, the big rigs/tractors/etc that they orginated on don't have the same usage cycle mainly because they aren't shut off very often - but are designed to idle just about all the time.
ed CHRA's are old technology" you question it. You go and research the web for an answer and not accept heresay as gospel.
