Well I ordered the 710/720's. My thinking is probably wisted but here I go again.
I plan to set my base pressure high, say 50 psi instead of 40 psi. Using the MAFT I will ean it at idle to run proper trims. Then at WOT I will have extra fuel which will allow me to lean allowing more timing but I will have the fuel there to run a safe A/F. Injectors due today. I will let you all know! Mar

I don't know about anyone else, but I run Denso 660s @ 36.6 base fuel pressure. I have an Aeromotive AFPR. My turbo is a PTE GT3255 and I run 21 PSI on 92 Chevron Techron pump gas. I am buying DSMLink because of the timing issue. The MAFT works great, but I do not like having the extra timing in there because I am having to run 11.4-11.8:1 A/F. I would assume that if you bring your base pressure up that much you will have to lean the hell out of all you settings to compensate for it, which generally isn't good. I suppose if you have the MAFT you can just sent the compensation for your injectors though. I was told by a few custom chip guys on here that you need to set your fuel pressure for whatever the chip or ecu has fuel maps for. Stock 1G is 36.6. Good luck.

well you shouldnt raise the fuel pressure to lean out the s-afc, you should find a happy medium to be able to make as little adjustment as possible on the s-afc or maft with the base pressure. Base 1g pressure is 35-38psi.

hey guys.. i have a 50 trim getting ready to install...63 a/r stage 3 wheel..

i have afc2.. 190lph fp.. and b&m fpr modifier.. im about to purchase injectors..
the B&M allows me to raise fuel pressure but not lower it anymore than stock.. if I get 660s should i be ok to run arond 20~psi on pump..

speaking of injectors what brands are good? ive read somewhere though they are labelled what they are some brands have more flow than others?

any input would be appreciated thanx

I have FIC 650s .I like them they have the made for dsm better sealing system better than the hokey stock ones.I might go bigger but can play with pressure and think that should be good enough for me.I do want to run about 20 on pump and 25 race gas occasionally.I guess it depends on how crazy you need your car to be.I am finding even 10psi to be nice around town in the cold air.I haven't checked duty cyles or pushed my
boost up just yet.Without a front mount not a good idea.
Anyway sweet those injectors should be good.I may have to move up too we will see but sure I read that 650s are plenty as long as you have a good pump, rewire and afpr.
I wish the maft had timing control like it does on my lt1 camaro. That would be handy as heck.I do see an engine management system in my future but really I am starting to think running twenty psi on the street on a 50 trim is pretty darn overkill. But maybe the cold air up here in canada is giving me a big advantage over some of you guys.I can only imagine the power I can make at like -30 F with wind chills to like -50. ;)

you gonna have to let ure motor warm up like a @$#%@ before you start running it

if you guys are buying 50trims and only hoping got 20psi on pump, and think 20psi on street is overkill. I think you got the wrong turbo. Anything less thsn 18psi is a total waste IMO. Ive actually never run less than 21psi on my 50trim since i got it, and i usually ran 25psi on pump, on the street. Just because its set at 25psi, doesnt mean i need to take 25psi to redline daily driving it. Shit i rarely see boost when im driving.

Well that is the nice thing about turbo .You can regulate part throttle boost easily. All I was saying is that my 50 trim even as a daily driver is not bad at all at around 10psi .It might not be the most efficient range for the turbo but it still is fairly fast.I just think that 20psi is fine too but again you aren't going to hold 20psi on anything except the highway for very long unless you like losing your liscence or getting huge tickets and jail time.I do speed a lot but its not continuous speed just short blasts and usually only get into boost for very little bit ,then there is some car in my way, a traffic light ,etc.City living sucks.

But I also think that one thing forgotten with all this quarter mile talk is just how great a 50 trim is on the highway. Its awesome passing power is great. Not all of us only care about quartermile cars.I like an all around car that also can just happen to do pretty good in the quarter too.

i dunno, not that the turbo is laggy in any way, but any less than 15psi, and i could see a 50trim getting romped on by someone with a little 14b LOL.
