5 speed Manual, sensor

I've got a 2g gst, with a 5 speed manual, I manage to break off the connector on the sensor that is on the top side towards the front of the car. Was wondering if this was important. It looks like a 3 pin connector and I am assuming this is the reverse sensor to trip my reverse lights?

If by front you mean the front bumper, the sensor that is towards the passenger wheel is the reverse switch. The only other sensor up top is the speed sensor and that is by the fire wall.
