my 98 gsx has all the ic pipes and greddy rs bov. greddy ebc also. no matter what i set boost at on a hard pull timing goes to -3 to -5. isnt this to low. also just have a t25. oh, boost stays right were i set it. it doesnt drop. i have a walbro 195 pump also. just got the logger and dont have it all figured out yet. i have never been beat 1/8 mile but every one gets me at end of 1/4. i raced a srt 4 neon and i know they are 230 horse. well i got him bad out of the hole but he got me by 3 lenths at end of 1/4. with my mods shouldnt it or dont u think it should of been close race. any help on this timing would be great. car seems to run fine. and was just rebuilt but the timing thing doesnt seem right. vic

my logger says knock sensor is bad, could that be making timing so low. when i shift it comes back up in the 20s then goes down to a - and stays.

Dont worry Vic, its for sure your Knock Sensor. Get her replaced and then we can tune your car. It will pull damn good for a t25. Then we can think about a 14b. Hope to see you this weekend and G/L talking the wife into coming along.

man, u are fast, LOL, i got 1 thru autozone and will be here tomarrow. just wanted to see what others thought. Sounds like lifters can do it also i just read but lifters are not noisy. vic

It was my knock sensor doing this. someone had cut the ground off. i took battry tray out to replace it and put new fuel filter on at same time. man, what a deference. I might be able to beat someone now. thank u digital tuning for ur data logger.

Are you crazy of course the 2g's have knock sensors. Well the turbo engines do. NA engines dont. Do you have a check engine light on. Give us your mods. PSI your running, etc. Give us a log too if you can. RPM, Timing, TPS, the good stuff.

I have a friend with the same problem. At wot, the timing stays around 0 and dips into the negative range. Never thought of the knock sensor since 2gs cant show knock. I hope its his problem and the ecu is seeing like 50+ counts of knock. To the thread starter, did u have a check engine light for it?... cause he isnt throwing any codes.

My car for some reason didnt show a engine light problem but it was the knock sensor, it did show up on my new datta logger tho. thats what made me look at sensor. I dont think 1st gs have sensor do they? you can kind of see knock in timing with logger if it spikes down. my timing at 18 lbs of boost now goes up nice and no down spikes thru a hard pull. i also have a ebc and ppl tell me this is better then mbc for running high boost. something to think about when buying boost controler.
