ok. My best friend is talking crap.
"i'll pull 2 cars on you from a roll"

His car- 1990 5.0 Mustang GT. Stock exept 2 cats removed.

Me - 1997 GST Stock except 3 in full exhaust and greddy BOV

We messed around before but never really raced. From 40mph he would tail gate me then floor it and try to pass me. I would kind of wait till he was at my door before I floored it. Once I did he would contenue to pull untill i am at his rear bumper at which point we are going fast and shut it down.

Stupid t2slow. My car feels like it looses all its cojones after 5,000 rpm.

When we do mess around I know my t2slow is running out of steam by 5,000 rpm but i just keep my foot on the pedal till like 7,000 and shift cuz everytime I do shift I feel like he pulls somewhat more.

Were going to race for reals next week you think ill get smoked hard or not too hard.

yeah that is really slow for a mustang you have no idea what the hell you are talking about so dont

Well me friend let me tell you that 15.75 is the best time for a STOCK Mustang GT 1997 here in Monterrey, MEx... and believe we have seen a lot, A LOT of Mustangs GT in the 1/4 mile... automatic GT runs 16.25 or more...

The new mustangs GT (03' and 04') are doing more less 14's (14.50 or a little bit less)...

And by the way... I have here just infront of me the Road & Track Magazine displayed in March 31, 1992 with the road test of the best cars of that year (1992), including the Mustang and Talon...

The results of this Magazine for a 1992 Mustang GT Convertible (page 68) and for 1992 Eagle Talon TSi AWD (page 60) were:

Mustang (engine: ohv V-8 4942 cc with 225HP @ 4200 RPM)
0-60 Mph 8.0 sec
0-1320 ft (1/4 mi) 16.1 sec @87.3 mph

Talon (engine turbo 4-valve dohc inline-4 195 HP @ 6000 RPM)
0-60 Mph 6.8 sec
0-1320ft (1/4 mi) 15.3 sec @ 88.0 mph..

And I have all the complete road test if u want it !!!!!!
This are FACTS!!!!! ;) :p

thanks!

I believe it. Some people are just ignorant and the twp previous posts show that. Many people think that mustang gt's are fast. They aren't!!!! If they were then why haven't i got beat by one? They seem to be even slowe rin the highway. I got a ride in the new thunderbird from one of my friends and we got and they highway and we ended up racing mustand gt and killing it. Just b/c it has a v8 doesn't make it fast. You people are idiots!!:barf:

"this are facts":

Road and Track Magazine is probably the worst car rag publication ever printed, but possibly the only one sold in "Monterrey, MEx", so I guess I understand why you think it's the Bible when it comes to 1/4 mile times. You obviously have never driven or ridden in a Mustang GT, stock OR modded, or you wouldn't be so quick to believe "this are facts".

There's nothing wrong with saying that a stock 1G DSM and a stock Mustang GT (regardless of year, 5.0 or 4.6) would be a good matchup -- because it would. Some would win with the DSM, some would win with a Mustang, depends on driver's skill and other variables. These two cars are in a similar range of quickness.

But to say that your Talon or Eclipse or whatever it was is such a vastly superior vehicle that "Rustangs" are no comparison is simply BULLSHIT and any reasonable person knows it.

"THIS ARE FACTS".

any reasonable person knows that your first post was stupid,

the mustang will win, is close to or exactly what you said

my gst, BONE STOCK, will be a VERY even race with a stock gt mustang. so lets be reasonable and leave your sick world thinking that removing the cats on a mustang is going to give you gains like a FULL exhaust on a TURBO dsm, i think it will be a close race you cannot say the mustang will win and be sure of this. i think the dsm has the upper hand, but i don't get on and say YOU WILL LIGHT HIM UP. a full exhaust does alot for these cars, and a removed cat doesn't do that much for a gt mustang

but to say a mustang is a such vastly superior vehicle that dsm's are no comparison is simply BULLSHIT and any reasonable person knows it.

OK guys we ran 4 times!

We had mixed rusults.

1- From a stop : Revved to 4,000rpm and slipped the clutch at I'd say about 65%throttle. I pulled on him right off the hole till he was at my door but when I felt I had good traction I gave it 100% throttle and lit up the tires. He then began to pull and by 100mph I was right behind his rear bumper:shhh:

2- We slowed down to about 20mph. 3rd honk we took off. 1st gear dead even, 2nd I had him by a bumper, 3rd right behind my door, 4th the same place he had me in the previous race. :thumb:

3- Slowed down to about 25 again. 3rd honk we take off, 1st dead even, 2nd he has me by a bumper, 3rd...In my rush for trying to shift faster cuz I was begining to loose I miss it and get my ass handed to me by a good 2 cars!OMG

4- From a stop : I rev to about 3,500 (didnt want to break loose again) and slip the clutch at 60% throttle, I took him by a bumper in 1st, second (nervouse that I would break loose) I gave it about 90% throttle and had him at my door. 3rd hes somewhere around my rear bumper, 4th he was about 1/2 a car behind.

My shifts were around 6,700'sh 1st, 6,500 2nd, 6,300'sh 3rd, we usually shut it off in 4th.

I guess we have pretty even cars.

Just for u to know here in Monterrey Mex we have all the magazine you can get on the U.S.... I refered to Road & Track because that was the one I could found (It's from 1992 man!, not so easy)... but if you can get a HOTROD magazine or some other that shows that 92' Mustang GT is faster than Talon TSi, well bring it up!!!!!!! I'am taking about facts (writen facts), not spoken BULLSHIT!!!!!!!

And for you to know... my father had own like 6 or 7 Mustangs V8, begining with the clasic ones and the last we bought (and we still have it) is a 1991 Mustang GT Convertible (if you see my gallery, in one of the pics, the mustang appear just behind my car)... The car is in perfect conditions and with 37500 miles (original) .. the car has a lot of mods including MSD ignition and Blaster "2" coil, Holley Headers and carburator, Magnaflow Exahust, and some others... best time of that car has been a 16's flat (16.01 or .02 more less)... @ .525

For me the magazine is not the bible... the bible, for me, is what really occur on the track... and at least, here in monterrey speedway all the Mustang GT STOCKS can't be lower than 15.70 (models from 97 and olders)... I am NOT telling "Rustangs" aren't good cars... actually mustangs are a sport clasic V8 and I like it very much!!! but DSM rules!!!!!!!...jejejejejijijiji... obviously if a person without experience in 1/4 mile drive the Mustang or the Talon Vs. someone with experience, is obvious who is gonna win! but in fair (similar) conditions and experience is MOST OFTEN and PROBABLE that the DSM defeat a Mustang....

Thanks!!!!!! :thumb:
