Hey, I am new to the forums though I've been lurking for quite some time now. I just recently bought a 97 GS Spyder.

I was wondering what I could do to it to gain some horsepower? It already has custom headers and I do NOT want it to be turbocharged. I know I can't make a beast out of this car but I am totally fine with that. I just want to gain a few more horses to get the sluggish out of her. Thanks

Btw- Why aren't there forums for the 4g64?

... I asked a question. If you don't believe that I have a 4g64, just pretend I do anyways. You'll learn later. Now please give me some ideas. LOL

To the OP, what are your goals and budget?>

Nvm, I just saw that you wanna get the sluggish out of her.

First do all the maintenance !!!!!!!!!!

then and only then I would free up that intake a little bit and get a bigger throttle body, intake manifold, and intake.

You could also get lighter wheels and possibly get a lighter crank pulley.

Your bottom end should then be nicer to drive.

I'd like it to have between 170-200hp. Budget: Around $1000. With headers already, it shouldn't be too hard. Like I said, I do not want a monster LOL This is my daily driver.. gonna make it a luxurious driver as well. Got DVD player visors haha

Yaa...it is a 2.4 sohc. My dad had a '99. There aren't really any performance parts for the 4g64 and it's a good thing you don't want a turbo, they don't even make a kit for it LOL

I would not do much more than an intake and exhaust. Do you have an automatic trans or a manual? That will play a big role in what you want to do, as the automatic trans that comes in the nt spyders will not handle any extra power.
