4g64 calipers are rubbing on rotors after disc brake conversion

I just did the rear disc brake conversion on my 98 n/t spyder. I used all the parts from a 97 gst. Everything turned out good except that now there's a noise because the rotors are rubbing against the outer side of calipers. Anyone had a similar experience? Should I try to find a different pair of calipers?

Did you make sure to grease the slide pins well, and make sure the calipers can move? If they're dry and the calipers are "stuck" they may not be floating like expected, and that could cause the rubbing on only one side.

sounds like the mounting holes on the caliper bracket might be different from your year to another. good chance that the 98 n/t is diffrent then the 97 gst, just a thought

Hey guys I've been busy with midterms at school but here is an update:
I took the car for a drive last night to see if the problem was still there and it is. but after taking the wheel off again. I realized its not the caliper the one rubbing against rotor. the sound is actually coming from the parking brake assembly. I'm guessing the brake shoes are not returning to their disengaged position. the passenger side wheel is fine so it can't be caliper related because I got everything from the same donor car.
th driver side hub with rotor on the other hand turns fine with no noise when the wheel is off but once I put the wheel on, its like if the weight of the wheel is actually what's causing it to drag. any idea on how I should go about this?

did you adjust right the parking brake? and did you use gst parking brake lines or your old and cutted the plate? i had something similar happening

2gSpyder4g64 It sounded similar to that but not so loud. And yes I used my old cables and cut the plate and put hose clamps on it.
After finally taking off caliper and rotor and carefully inspecting the parking brake assembly during the daytime I noticed what was causing the hissing sound and fixed it.

The small part I circled was moved and a little corner is what was rubbing against the rotor.

so you swapped to the disc brake backing plate correct. take off the calipers and rotors in back and look at the backing plate for the adjustment star wheel. measure the distance from shoe to shoe and then mess with the star wheel until you pull it in a little bit and have it where the parking brake engages around 4-7 clicks up. i did this on my galant with no issues. good luck
