warped rotors? pads? or driveshaft rubbing? Help!

Okay, so I've done some searches and couldn't find the answers or symptoms I'm looking for. If you see one please send me the link after reading what my problem is....

So just the other day, I pulled to a gas station for some things and when I went back in my car and was driving around the station in 1st, I heard a rubbing sound that sounds like brakes being completely out. But in 1st gear without being on the brakes. It gets louder the slower I go and when I turn. When I'm on the highway I can't hear/feel it anymore. When I'm in neutral and rev the engine no abnormal noise either. What do you guys think it could be? Just seeing if anyone had the same symptoms. If nothing, then it won't hurt to buy new brake pads and rotors then I will see if it fixes it since it never hurts. But let me know what you guys think it could be. The car is a 97 gsx 5speed. Man that just happened to me today. It was the dust shield that was hitting my rotors. I thought it was my brake pads that were gone. Take a look at it and if its hitting the rotor just pry it back with a screw driver. I did it on mine and the sound went away.

As long as you are 100% the noise is from the brakes then loose lugs nuts or worn out wheel bearings would cause a loose rotor to make noise while turning and at low speeds also will cause abnormal pad wear. You can jack the car up and try to move the wheel by hand see if it's loose.

I'm glad you at least get what I'm talking about with my funky non helpful writting ;D Let me check because that can absolutely be my problem as well... since it can out of no where and I was just driving normal (however, i've heard rotors can be warped even when normal driving).
