brake rotors

So I just bought a 96 spyder gst auto with abs and it needs brakes. It sat for a while, but it feels as though the rear rotors are warped and glazed (e brake is fine). I'm looking to repair this as cheap as possible since I bought the car Thurs and lost my job on Sunday. I live near many a junk yard and was wondering what rotors swap in (ie Sebring, avenger, 3g eclipse etc). Eventually I'm going to piece together a big brake upgrade, but need these parts on the cheap now. I did forum and Google searches but gave up after going through hundreds of big brake posts, so if I missed it I apologize.

I know your looking on the cheap so just to put a bug in your ear. On eBay you can get drilled and slotted rotors front and rear with pads for $130. Some may argue the quality on a long term but it is pretty cheap. Just throwing a possible alternative to junk yard parts that could possibly give you the same thing you have now.

Thanks for the reply, I saw those, but the price was so low it scared me a little, anyone have any experience with eBay brakes, would it be safe to say I could get through a month or two?

I wouldn't touch fleabay drilled rotors, I've seen too many of them crack. The blank faced rotors are probably fine though.

I have used about 4 sets of ebay drilled and slotted rotors with out a problem.

Look for Brembos rotors. I got some from Autopartswarehouse.com for about the same price as Fleabay rotors. The Fleabay rotors will warp on you quickly. Or just go to Oreillys and get the basics so you will have a little warranty.

Also, you can upgrade your single piston fwd brakes to awd 2 piston calipers too. This would be a great time to upgrade. Easy bolt-on and better braking. Stangmurdera has a set used for sale too, I think.

I have a set of drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic pads from ebay on my 93 talon and I dont any problems with them at all and I got them 2 or 3 days later. everything was a direct fit so I would recommend them

Thanks for all the replies, it's good to get some feed back on the eBay brakes. I actually did the vr4 upgrade in 99 on my first eclipse, loved them, I'm going as cheap as possible, hoping it affords me enough time till I can scrap together enough for a big brake swap. You know your old when your build goes brakes, suspension and than 97+ front bumper
