ok...i have a 93 eclipse GS(non-turbo) an i want more power so i'm looking into the cyclone motor on totaljdm.com.....i was wondering how much its gonna run to get it installed from a performance shop..i know you cant tell me exactly how much...cuz it differs...bout just an estimate. also...what to do about the AWD trans that the cyclone comes with...can i put my 5-speed trans on an keep the front wheel drive...i wanna keep it fwd. any other info anyone with better knowledge with these motors would be great!!!...thanx in advance

To put it in a non-turbo car, 5k in labor, easily. If you can even find a shop that will do it.

WTF? $5000 in labor? Who in the hell does your work?

I'd say most "normal" shops would charge you anywhere between $600-$1300 to drop it in. Make sure you get the n/a motor when you order it and it'll come with a fwd tranny, you can also order just the motor itself with no tranny. It's not no special swap or anything, it'll drop right in.

This thread flew right over your head. He said he wants the 4G63T. Which would cost a ton to do. Then he talking about bolting on his N/T FWD tranny up, add another ton to the first to make it work safe. And I do my own work.

The motor swap is extremely expensive. Either buy a turbo kit, or try and sell the n/t for a turbo IMO, the latter being the easiest and safest

It depends on which NA he has. 93 Eclipse N/T. If it's a 4g63 2.0 NA, then its very easy to drop in a 4g63T and should only take about 6 hours if you have all the tools and you've done a swap before. If it's a 1.8L or non-4g63...then it will be exensive to put a 4g63T motor in there.

i have the 2.0...ive searched an heard totally different things...i just love 1g's...an its really hard to find a 1g turbo with low mileage. i guess i could buy a 1g turbo w/ lots of miles for cheap an swap in a new motor...but just thought i could use mine...i guess i could always find an rebuild a 5 speed tranny that came out of a 1g turbo....but the motor is only 1500!! thats really tempting...an if i could find someone to put it in...

its gonna be up ther, i dono about 5g, ur gonna need a AWD tranny(6-bolt), 6 bolt flywheel, u gotta move ur water pump, and u gotta get a turbo ecu........im putting one in my red talon soon my other talon has an evo3 motor. but its gonna cost some coin.
