Now there's tons of.other post but most are old. I blew my 7bolt up, I found a 6bolt block for $90 and 1g and 2g heads for $50, my question is what should i do if i buy these? As in what should i do machine wise to block and head? I've read Alot and there's so much flip flipping on ideas.. I'm going to be running a 20g turbo, shooting for forged rods and pistons... So oil squirters or no squirters? And what should i do tp heads and block, port polish, bake, angle grind, what else? Also what's a good bore? I'm going to be doing 10:1 pref comp, with e85... Any thoughts? And yes i read and researched but again i want fresh ideas

Is that bare block or complete "short block"?

Ether way, it sounds like a good deal! 6 bolt bare blocks are now selling for $100-$150, good cranks are worth about the same. But sometimes you find complete blocks for $100 and when do, you snatch them up! ;)

What are you power goals? 20G on any fuel doesn't require forged pistions.

The price on the core block and heads are a good price.

Now depending on your goals is how the build and parts list should come about.

As far as the oil squirters go the end use of the car and parts selection will help decide if you will truly need them or not. If the 6 bolt block has them, then use them.

Now for machine work, all the basics need covered. Then there could be some more needed depending on your goals

Well I'm shooting for 550+ hp

The block and heads are $100 together. Should I use 2g or 1g heads. I was thinking 9:1, 10:1 compression. I have roughly 2grand. A complete built long block for $1800, with forged int, 280cam, ect ect... I think i can build this block cheaper then buying his.. I havr 720cc inj going in. I will eventually upgrade turbo from my 20g but not soon. Im.buying the block and heads today. Im going straight to machine shop.

Any thoughts on what I should have done? Also if it doesn't need boring, should i.get it.done? I was thinking .40bore but have read mixed reviews....dsms are so confusing... Lol way too many opinions on what to do LOL

Should I use 2g or 1g heads.

Why don't you just ask how we feel about abortion, it will probably will be less charged :)

I always used 1G heads, always was happy with them. But... there are others who SWEAR by ported 2G heads...

You really can't go wrong with ether head, but I wouldn't overanalyze it ;)

I just threw a rod out of my 7 bolt 2 months ago! I ended up making a build very similar to yours too! so here is what I did..

7 bolt block
7 bolt head (better air flow than 6 bolt)
evo 8 injectors
dsmlink
20g Burscher td06
272 cams (any higher and you have to get larger springs and apply that to the tuning)
Eagle crank
Eagle rods
Evo 8 pistons (stock bore)
Revised 3g lifters
44mm WG externally gated
BS delete
Oil port mod
Oil squirters
VRSF FMIC
Stock MAF

Link says I'm at 426whp but I'm going to take it to a shop to get professionally tuned to see if we can squeeze more out. I'm running 93 octane pump gas, e85 will add about 50-60 hp if you go that route.

I love my build and have put over 4k miles on it since the rebuild and if broken in properly youll have a decently reliable build. I get on mine HARD every single day with no issues. I'd build it the same way over again if i did it tomorrow, but to each his own.

Ok, well I might buy Crower springs to go with bigger cam, what machine work do guys get done on these for performance, any special mount needed to install a 6 bolt in a2g? Also can a scaf2 tune those upgrades? Springs ect

I also heard stock crank is fine for 600hp that true LOL?

stock crank will be good for most any street DSM, even if you could find an evo one that would be even better unless you go fully forged.

I'm stock bore but my head is ported and now my engine can rev to 9k+ rpm which would :beatentodeath: on the streets with a 20g, 50 trim or 60 trim turbo even.
