ok so ive been into dsms for awhile owned quite a few. I had a 6bolt engine laying around so i started stripping it and im almost to just block. i heard the none turbo engine can be used as a turbo block minus internals so im taking it to bear block. hiope i heard right. I want it to put out some decent power. Im also rebuilding my head too i am wanting to do everything myself figured it would be a good expirence for me. for the head i want to do everything bc or hks? and dont know much bout boring or that stuff any good advice would be appreciated. like from start point on block.. i got my license suspended in a buddys tsi so i got awhile just want to do stuff right for my awd project doing power plant first so nothing to expensive but decent LOL. Anyways ideas? thanks

adding some pics ill keep it updated.. if it will let me

Try to find the member here named Vogus_svs or something like that. He has a thunderbird as his profile pic and he seems pretty intelligent with the machining.

The blocks are the same. The non-turbo block does not have oil squirters that point up towards the pistons though, I don't know if that would affect anything.

The squirters are a back and forth thing. Some say you need it, some say you don't. You can toss a 101 valid points as to why you need them and why you don't. They spray the underside of the pistons with cool oil. How much this effects performance? No one knows.

But, without them.. you'd have more oil pressure. That's obvious.

The N/T block can be used. But yes..Vogus would know.
