4G63 Non-Turbo Exhaust

Hi,

Just a quick question.
I've got a 1997 Eclipse GS (4G63 Non-Turbo Engine) and I was looking at some exhaust headers on e-bay.
It seems to me that the 1G has the same flanges as the 2G....I know that the intake side has different channel size..but that the exhaust side ought to fit. Is this true?

It's so darn hard to find 2G 4G63 Non-turbo bolt-on mods on e-bay; everything seems to be for the 420A engine....

Please advice...

Are you certain you dont have a 420a? 2g n/a's did not come w/ 4g63.

You are going to have a hard time finding an exhaust for this. Because the 2gs (Everywhere else) had 420as.
You have a nice car. Take some pics for us?
You will probably have to make a custom exhaust. =/

Its not hard to turbo a 4g63 NT just use the search button and look for the 1G NT 4G63s forums on how to convert it over. Its been done for many years now all ya have to do is search.

Aside from the ecu and other components, the motor of the N/A is a bit different. The ring lands on the N/T motor are higher than the turbo pistons. With them higher up, it makes it easier to break off a chunk of the ring land during boost. That's the reason why most vehicles that are N/A and turbo it without upgrading the internals can only do low boost numbers.

Your best bet with the exhaust is
1. Take a picture for us to see what's under the hood.
2. Measure the outside exhaust studs as on the 2g they are bigger than the 1g head.
3. You can also measure the exhaust port width and diameter so we can see how far off it is.

I have the same car (I think), and it's fantastic! I can not find any exaust systems that fits bolt-on. I can upload some pictures of the enginebay and the car so you can see what it looks like, unmodified.

It is a very rare car indeed. And you will most likely have a hard time finding the right parts for it. I've managed to find headers and coilovers, that's it. I wonder if you could fit some EVO parts on it, since the engine is the same. More research by the tuning companies need to be done on the europen model in my opinion. It's not that rare in Europe though, but I understand it's rare in America, hence the lack of parts.
