Ok, this is gonna be a fairly long / frustrated post but maybe some DSM gurus can assist...

Car is an 87 Starion swapped with the 4g63 DOHC with a 2g harness and ECU. Got the car running decent on idle but when reving it sounds like it's either hitting rev limiter at like 2000 rpm or has a serious boost leak.

It is a 6 bolt I've never had this issue with other 6bolt swaps in a 2g before. Is a Kiggley crank sensor kit gonna fix this issue?

I am running a MAF translator with a chipped (Key Divers chip I think) ECU, 750 fip injectors. ECU is out of another car known to be good never had an issue with it.

Trouble shooting I've done:
Did a boost leak test had some small issues but remedied those and only hear a slight noise out of the catch can breather now, barely anything.

I've completely deleted/plugged the blowoff valve, no change.
Replaced the TPS, no change.
I've messed the waste gate lines, no change.
Slightly concerned that maybe the waste gate is the issue (new) or some wiring/sensor.

The wiring harness is a huge mess, mainly because I didn't want remove any wires that I was unsure about needing.

Again, it idles decent, starts a little hard but once running it idles half decent. Once it's revved to 1900-2000 rpm or above it bounces up and down, sounds just like it has a rev limiter.

I've searched the forums here and there, but to no avail.

LMK what you guys think, any suggestions.

ALSO: I do have DSMLink v3 chip not installed, a separate question about adding a data port to this old ass car. Any pages/links to how to add a port?

Any info is greatly appreciated
Brian

Make sure that you have a functioning Idle Position Switch and that it opens when the butterfly start to open. If it stays closed the ECU can't tell the difference from a high idle and it will go into decel fuel cut otherwise known as Idle Surge.

And we don't collect extra commas, periods, and other types of symbols here, so you don't need to use them. ;)

Thanx Steve, I'll look into that idle switch.

Sorry about the punctuation, my text talky bleeding thru.

I looked into that idle switch. On a 2g its inside the TPS. I seen you post about that in another thread. My TPS is new and has the 4 pins. My throttle body has the FIAV delete and the ISC isn't plugged in or present. I'm contemplating replacing the whole throttle body to see what happens.

Any extra input would be great, I'll post up about the throttle body swap results.

And with a 2G ECU that TPS needs to be adjusted based on where the internal IPS switches. IIRC it's TPS pin 3 that is the idle switch and should run back to ECU pin 87. TPS pin 2 is the output voltage that runs to ECU pin 84.

Adding a OBD II connector is easy once you source it. You don't need the VSS signal to pin 14. Just pin 1 (from ECU 56), pin 7 (from ECU pin 62), pin 16 gets fused battery voltage and pins 4 and 5 go to ground.

Ok update:
I have replaced the throttle body with a 2g throttle body, that the SAS and TPS wasn't touched/moved. There was no change.

I have also confirmed the there is continuity in the TPS pin 3 and pin 87 of the ECU and
TPS pin 2 and ECU pin 84.

Included is a couple pics of the mess I have..
One question, do I need anything out of the body harness connections? There is 2, maybe a ground is needed in there?
