450cc injectors in a 1G non-turbo?

Hi,

I want to build an E85 setup for my 1G non-turbo. I'm planning to use 450ccm injectors in combination with an EVO ECU...

But I want also be able to use normal octane 95 fuel. Of course I will use optimized fuel and ignition maps for each fuel-typ. (So you can think of it like a dual-setup)

Now my big question: Are the 450cc injectors too big for a good octane-95 setup?

Any help would be great full!

You can run any octane level in any sized injector. E85 is almost 100 octane due to the high content of alcohol in the fuel, but much lesser BTU output than with regular 95.

I'm running stock 450's, but my ECU (no engine management here) is programmed to use 450 injectors. Any different and I'll either be running lean or rich.

Which generation of EVO did that ECU came out of and you should match what the injector size worked with that EVO ECU.

E85 is about octane 115...
And I know that I have to use a much richer AFR if I want to drive E85...

The ECU I will use will become re-programmed to fit to the injectors and the fuel. it also will have a feature to switch from the E85 setup to the octane-95 setup.
May be I will use a 1G stock ECU. but I'm not any good in programming with assembler so I can't change the software myself. Because of this I want to use an EVO ECU which I can modify with EVO-link by myself...

Back to topic:
I’m affright that the 450cc injectors won’t work proper or the air/fuel mixture isn’t optimal if the injectors are oversized for their job. The duty cycle will be much shorter and the injection timing is different to the 275cc injectors…
