Bay Area,
what's up guys, i've been hearing mixed answers about the fuel pump situation im in.

let's say this, i buy a used star turbo kit blah blah, but it dosen't come with the fuel pump, needs a gasket for the fmu, needs a nut or something for the wastegate?

now, are these just easy fix's or what?

my main concern is about the fuel pump, i was talking to corbin on another forum, and he said, 190, 255, even 255 high LPH walbro fuel pumps aren't enough to power stage 2?????

i just wanted to know what in the world are the fuel pumps with the star stage 2 kit come with, what LPH's are they!? LOL, let me know guys, thanks

Corbin said that? Hrm. I believe a 255 lph is enough for plenty of boost. I run a Walbro 255lph + Aeromotive inline so I am not sure. One time the relay for the aeromotive went out so just the walbro was pumping and I was running about 16 psi no problem.

hmm that's very odd, i believe corbin's running hrc... what kit are you running?

yeah i thought about it as well, 255 should be MORE then enough for a star stage two and stock injectors and stock internals forreals...

odd odd odd... im pretty sure 190lph walbro's are enough for me right? remember, all i want to do is stay under 9psi for a long time LOL...

let me know!

The 255/lph fuel pump is more than enough for Stage 2. A few of the big-name tuned Supra's use TWIN Walbro's 255/lph's to support their 1000hp+ they are making. So one pump should obviously be good all the way to 500hp.

The more limited 190lph pump is good enough for you if you are planning on staying at Stage 2. I would get the 255/lph pump though, just to be safe, in case you do decide to go beyond Stage 2 someday.

The reason Corbin said that was because the kits do not ship with larger injectors. If you are going to be running 7 psi with a 12:1 FMU you will be getting about ~110+psi of fuel at 7psi. That pump will not be able to push 110psi of fuel. Sure, it will flow penty but it won't flow at the pressure you need. Some larger injectors will solve this. Of course then you can start battling with our ECU.

Oh yeah. :D I'm not a member the 100 psi of fuel club. I don't believe in that rubbish. :thumb: 45 psi, larger injectors, and proper tuning is the way to go.

Hopefully you guys can help me out... im so confused here ... i saved alot of money on doing everything custom turbo... Anyways does anybody here know where to connect a fmu.

Its very confusing im so lost. I know to run more then 5psi we need a fuel pump 255 walbro which i got at howellautomotive.com,

Im running 6-10psi, and i need to know how to connect a fmu??... Does anybody have a idea how to connect this? Is it hard or easy? Thanks for the help i appreciate it.

fmu? A fuel pressure regulator? You will need to bypass the stocker, how you do it depends on the year of your car. Then you run a return line, install the FPR on the outlet (test port) of your fuel rail and the outlet of the FPR goes to the return line to take fuel back to the tank.

190 pump wouldnt need a fpr so couldnt he pick up a walbro 190 pump & some 450cc Turbo Injectors?
