420a Valve cover 8mm bolt broke end piece is stuck in block how can i get it out???

i was thinking drilling the bolt that had broke inside the block out but i dont wanna damage the threading on the block.. the bolt on the upper left hand side had broke

You may have to drill it out and rethreat it to the next size up.

i was thinking about shaving down on it slowly, with a smaller drill bit until i get all of it out

You could try that. Keep me posted on how it turns out.

Its going to be really hard to not hit those threads. And when you get to the bottom there will be a "shell" of the bold still threaded in.

yeah its gonna be hard but i was thinking of somethin half the size of the bolt to start off with and for the shell just gotta push threw it

Well be careful and best of luck. Can you get a bolt extractor and try that?

You could try and use a reversed drill bit to extract the piece that broke off. We used this method a lot back in my HS auto shop and most of the time it works.

thanks man i appreciate it. you,and silver have great ideas but i don't know which 1 to go with, bolt extractor seems pretty self explanatory so ill give that a shot
