1998 420a eclipse motor has 98000 miles 5 speed 255 walbro fuel pump 12:1 fmu ,egr blook off ..new spark plugs new clutch, turbo smart fcd 2 .

problem ..at wot the car wont go past 4000k rpm it starts to break up....at slight throttle I can move up in rpm but if I floor it ..it will start to brake up like a 2 step sytem or something like that ...help!!!

I know it's the cheap way to do it on a 420 but an FMU isnt the correct way to add fuel to a car. Do you have a wideband? You cant really say what's going on without at least a wideband. I'd guess either your fuel mixture or airflow compensation is off.

installed a missing link today and still nothing ... im also getting a (no link ) message on my obd2 scanner I check the port and it has 12V and ground ..don't know what eles to check?. I just ordered a wide band gauge.

any ideas ? do I need bigger injectors ? I see alout of ppl using just fm and walbro fuel pump and 5 pounds no problem. im lost at this point

+1 on the WB. I've had similar issues in the past and it ended up just being maintenance related (replaced plugs, wires, filter and threw in some injector cleaner). But you said you've replaced the plugs so without knowing really what's going on with your A/F it's hard to make an educated guess. What turbo are you running and what pressure?
