Hi guys it's me again asking about dropping a turbo in my GS 2G... I really want to buy my own parts and get the turbo kit together by my self because I don't have a the dough right now to just go and buy the complete kit. So I figured if I buy the parts slowly I could have the whole kit together pretty soon... If any body can help me build this kit and tell me waht do I need to buy I would be really thankful... I'll apreciate any help... One more thing if there are some parts that I can buy no matter what my turbo will be, like a bov, intercooler, boost controller, please tell me because at least that I can take out of the way... ... :dsm:  Thank you guys...

You'll need to build your fuel system. This will take an SFMU, return lines, inline pump or replacement pump. You'll need your gauges too. After that, it's all mechanical like turbo, mani, IC and plumbing imo. Don't forget your oil lines and all that too.

remember what i said in the other thread, you have to get a turbo with a low enough actuator setting so you can run low enough boost for your engine to handle it.

anyone ever here of somebody trying to run a twin turbo kit on the 420a motor. I was thinking about giving it a try friend of mine is interning for Aem this summer he said that if I needed anything to let him know I think it would be rather cool to have a eclipse pull up with 2 turbos. I know it sounds kind of dum but if it works it is a lot more power than what you going to get from those single turbo kits. I'm trying to think of what type of turbos to use for this project I was thinking about either using the t/3 t/4 hybrid or the turbo kit for the 3000gt vr4. I known i'm going to need a lot in fact probably all parts are going to need to be fabricated but hey it wouldn't be any fun if it was easy.

Same as a 4G63T, it won't push two turbos... unless they're teeny little motorcycle blowers, which won't put out as much as one properly-sized turbo will. Twin turbos are for more than four cylinders, or lots more than two liters.

Well my 420a is anything but a 2.0 anymore I had the motor machined to be a 2.4 and 60mm throttle body. I'm thinking that you may be right though so what I'm getting ready to do is put the v6 out of the new gts into my car and bulding that. i'm still trying out the idea about 420a tt. this is how things go you try if it works it works if it doesn't oh well start on something new. anyway i got a couple of guy's helping me out one of them is now working in the design department for aem the other 2 guys one works for xatracing which is the shop that built my 240 sx that pushes 411 to the wheels with the s-13 redtop love that car. the other guy just has always screwed around with dsm. we just got two greddy hybrid turbos from a guy we know. so we are going to use those to start with.

i think the turbos out for it now are perfectly fine for it....i dont know they seem to be a proven platform....the new 6 cylinder i heard was hard to turbo....well whatever u wanna do man its ur money but if u wanna send it my way i could use a gsk or a tsi awd :thumb:

This is really old but funny bc I've seen successful tt out of the 4g63.. and the 420a is possible... mine runs over 20psi ona single 60mm turbo. .. the onlu successful w ay to tt one is and 8:1 compression ratio a 13g or 14b turbo off the mani and a bigger turbo off of that.... the smaller one spools at low rpms which causes a low spool for the big one and less turbo lag if done correctly. U will need to build the crap out of the motor and drivetrain and purchase a port fueler to to accomadate the higher boost pressure.

Where was the said TT 4g63t? Twin turboing a 4 banger is possible its just not practical for the money it would cost vs performance, now sequential or compound is a different story but twin turbo no. Think about it, for it to be twin turbo it means that you have 2 cylinders driving/spooling a turbo so they need to be small to have ANY kind of spool time. Once you get a turbo that was small enough to spool you would then have an issue of choking the turbo because its so small for spool. You could theoretically go with a VV turbo like on some diesels but again its not practical. What you are referring to is a compound set up, but even then they smaller turbo spooling the bigger turbo isn't the best way to do it.
