If you had enough money, anything is possible. But in this case it's not worth it nor is it logical. Unless you're a shop or a bored, extremely experienced DSMer, wanting to try something new.

Why not just buy a turbo dsm? It'll be much easier, and SO much less costly than trying to put an evo motor into your car. Have you done any research on the subject, because I haven't. I'll search and see if anyone's done this....if they have it certainly wasn't cheap.

Its a good thought but not practical. It would cost more to complete the swap then it would to buy a new turbo eclipse. If you like your car but want more performance look for a turbo kit maybe hahnracecraft.com.

Unless you have a lot of money or you are a great fab guy then the best route for you is to buy a turbo car. Much better reliability if you do not know a lot on working out the issues.

theres a guy that has swapped evo 8 motors in two 2g gs. theres a website somewhere. i cant remember it right now, i used to have it bookmarked. i think he was in michigan and both cars ran great. it was sweet. very well put together. i almost went the same route. i had gotten and evo motor for cheap ### a friend wrecked his evo but i didnt have time to put the motor in and try to run the wiring i just went out and bought a gsx. i wonder what life would have been if i stuck to the plan. o well

I read an article on some guy that put an evo8 motor in his 3rd gen eclipse. It started as a 4 cylinder model eclipse but come to find out, the transmission in those cars will bolt right up to an evo 4g63. Of course it was a little expensive but pretty cool idea too. Had to have custom mounts done by his shop but he also found out that he could use the 2g awd setup on his car. Very interesting, and would be one hell of a sleeper if he got all that to work together. This ad was in my Turbo& High tech performance magazine.

well i see that not a lot of people have evo 4g63s in there eclipse so i want to something different....do you guys know what transmission ect. i would need to do this swap...cause i really want this done....money and fabing are not a problem i just dont really know where to start on this....

If you don't know where to start, then fabbing is probably an issue. Here is how it will go

Buy an engine, remove old engine, make mounts, put engine in, fit everything else to the engine/trans, drive away happy. That's all the guide you're going to get. You can probably get some info from the dude that's done the swap before too.

Lol, I think you'd have more fun with the LS1 swap personally.

well theres a guy that has a ls1 engine, trans, drive shaft ect. and he really wants me to drop it in my car......but thats besides the point........

AWD is what maks an evo and evo regardless if its just the motor or not...LOL. Personally i favor the evo motor but there are ways to convert it to RWD that and i think buschuracing.com has a kit, but yea it'll definitly be time consuming and will dig so deep in your pockets its not even funny.:dsm:
