I have a 98 420a NT eclipse and when I give the car throttle is has a sputter feel like one of the cylinders is missing. The more throttle i give it the worse it sputters. I changed out the plugs and plug wires and it is still doing the same thing. Any ideas?

Long shot: water in the spark plug wells since you changed them out? Any CEL action? Flashing, perhaps? Do the keydance if you have codes?

There is no liquid inside the spark plug wells, could it be a plugged fuel filter? I have no idea.

A fuel filter replacement wouldn't be a bad idea if it hasn't been done in a while.

Just something else to check.. make sure your wires are connected to the coilpack. One of mine wasn't "clicked" on all the way and resulted in some sputtering.

Did you push the new wires all the way into the coil? Have you watched the engine bay while the car is running, checking for any arcing between the wires and the engine?

yea everything seems to be ok under the hood. And I honestly think the the fuel filter has not been changed once since it was purchased brand new. I am one of many owners i am sure. Oh and how do i go about checking resistance in the coil pack? I have many things to learn :)

yeah when i started the car this morning. it sputtered. turned it off and did it again but now it fixed itself i guess. so sometimes humidity and heat will put water in your intake
