So this one is really starting to annoy me... I have a 96 dodge avenger with a 420a turbo'd. It's been built, tuned etc.. but I have one issue that won't go away.

A Check Engine light - code p0106 map/baro ckt rng perf. I added the snyapse missing link, and a new map sensor. Disconnected that battery for 4 days, then put it all back together, and after the 3rd start, CEL came on. No reving of te motor, no moving, just turn on then turn off. I have the stock ECU, and an APEXi AFC NEO, anyone have any thoughts on this? I live in CT and our emmissions laws suck, it's an obdII test, so any codes or CEL's even monitors not ready, and you fail. I need to go in April 2010, just 4 months from now, and I would like to have this solved before then so I can do the drive cycles.. Please help... Thanks

i would try and find an erly 95 factory map senser. i have a 95 neon and it can read boost just fine. im told that late 95 and up map sensers cant read boost past 3psi. or just disconnect the waste gate so you wont boost.

just my .02

where would I disconnect the wastegate from, the vacume line?? also will the early 95 MAP work with the ecu of a 96? The car runs great right now, I just need to get the damn thing through emmissions, or if anyone here lives in CT and has a connection that would be awesome....

Thanks

so here is where I stand. I have taken my AFC NEO out of the loop (wired the map back to factory. Now I would like to "turn off" the turbo without having to remove everything from the car. Is this possible. Someone told me that all I need to do is disconnect the vaccum line from the external wastegate and I would no longer make boost. Is this acurate? Currently it looks like I am able to keep the CEL off, and maintain the correct voltage to the/from the MAP. I just need to be able to criple the car through the drive cycle, and then go to emmissions. Once this is completed I will put everything back, and start upgrading a few things and I will have another 2 years to get these bugs worked out. Please advise, thanks everyone..
