I have a '91 GSX that i plan on investing some hard earned cash into it. I want to be able to daily drive it without any major issues, and run 11's at the track. Here is my rough idea of my planned set-up:

Fuel/Intake:
3" GMAF w/ Gen 2 Translator
24"x12"x3.5" Short Route Blow Through FMIC
Walbro 250
FIC 750cc Injectors
AFC Neo
Aeromotive Fuel Rail
Aeromotive FPR

Exahust:
SS O2 Housing With Dump Tube
3" Turbo Back Exhaust with no Cat
SS TUbular Mani with Tial 38mm (1 Bar Spring)

Turbo:
Undecided- Suggestions!!!! No More Than $1200
 
It's a walbro 255. You can probably save some money with a 2g ported turbo manifold.
What are you going to use for tuning? safc or dsmlink? I don't think you really 'need' a gmaf. My goals are the same as yours. Take a look at my profile to get some more ideas.
However, my car is built, just not tuned yet.
Oh, and you will want a wideband gauge.
 
Turbo I sugges a 50trim BB (weee fun!) or an FP 3052... though you'll have to look at the prices on that cause I can't remember.

Screw the AFC, and get a DSMLink. You'll be happier. Your car will be happier. Your HP and 1/4 mile times will be easier to attain. You'll learn a whole lot more as well.

And as always, take your time. Make sure you have cash left over (ohhh an extra 2 grand) just in case something happens which well... it just might! Be gentle on the car. You can run 11's with that setup you're aiming for. But you don't have to beat it hard to get there. If you do... more cash for the transmission and whatnot that'll break.

Plus I'd suggest some good gauges (Fuel pressure gauge, boost gauge and a wideband at the least). Plus you'll need the intake pipe, blow off valve, and boost controller. I'm sure there's more, but I'm having a brain fart kinda day. Good luck, do your maintenance, and read read read!
 
You're also going to need a clutch. You stock one isn't going to handle that much power. He was going to tune with the gen 2 translator which can do wideband traking, but is basically jsut a bit better than an safc.Also if you have the gen 2 translator why buy a an safc ? I'd go with a 20g or a 50 trim. You should get a wideband or at least some sort of datalogger. Dsmlink would probably be one of the better tuning devices to use. You need to do a little bit of research and maybe learn more about the car before you dump alot of money into something you don't know much about. Maintenance is key on our cars. If i were you I'd hang around on the boards and ask questions and read alot.
