Okay, I bought a 1990 Eclipse GSX that someone had already started modifying. That was my first mistake but I already know that after 1 year's worth of fixing... On to my question:
Previous owner did a 4 bolt rear end swap but I don't know if he changed everything suspension wise or just the diff and axles. The reason I ask is, the passenger side rear brake rattles and I don't know if there's a difference in the Anti Rattle Clips for a 90 vs 91-94 GSX or even how to tell the difference in the calipers if it's possible to retain them after doing a 4 bolt swap!!!

Some people tell their car/wife they love them every day. I threaten my car with a hammer and

Any info on swapping a 4 bolt and what to do with the brakes would help a LOT, pictures on the visual differences between 90 and 91-94 GSX rear calipers would be a godsend!

Thanks!

The brakes shouldn't have been touched in the swap. All that is required to swap the rear is to drop the old diff, replace it with the 4 bolt diff. Then swap out the 3 bolt axle cups for the 4 bolt cups. Then bolt the axles to the cups.

If your calipers don't have the anti rattle clips you need to locate some and install them. The old VGX metallic pads come with the clips. Some other kits may have them too. At the very least you could scavange some from the junkyard or someones part out. If you were to buy loaded calipers they would also be included with those.

Thanks, I was hoping that wasn't the case since 90's have yet another inferior to the rest of the 1g's part in it's rear calipers... It's not going to be a rally-x car but I still like to be able to carve some familiar back roads on occasion. I looked but couldn't find the VGX rear pads, are the ARC's part of a standard hardware kit? By hardware kit, I mean the ones offered by O'Reilly's, Napa, etc. that have shims and whatnot.

The Napa over here carries a line called the "Satisfied Pro" series they used to come with the hardware. I guess you would just have to call them and ask. It just depends on the line if they come with the clips or not. They are really a pita to find.

Had no trouble ordering the clips from NAPA, they essentially are the whole "hardware kit". NAPAONLINE
