Hey guys,

I'm planning on doing an AWD front brake swap on my 93 talon ESi. I've found the calipers plus brackets but I needed to know firstly about the master cylinder. My car is non-ABS so when upgrading this to the 1" bore, should I stick with the non-ABS MC? Would it matter much if I got the ABS version? Also, bcause my car is FWD should I find a FWD master cylinder? Would it matter to get the AWD cylinder? I would assume that the ports for the brake lines would just be in different locations if I bought the AWD version.

Also, I noticed in the Tech articles something about shimming the bracket for the caliper when doing this swap but it doesn't really go in to any further description. Can someone fill me in on if this is needed if I'm going from 93 single pistons to the 93 dual piston setup?

My car is no horsepower beast but my profile is up to date which doesn't really help in this case. Let me know if you need any further info. I do apprecaite all the help.

I changed my '90 fronts to 2G AWD duals, OE brake hoses to SS, and MC from 15/16" to 1". I decided on the MC change for reasons of preventative maintenance (130Kmi), a perhaps assist with persistent soft brakes, and an expected more optimal match with the new calipers. However, unless a clear problem can be traced to the MC, there's no real need to replace it -- it's just a choice.
