what are the differences between the 3 & 4 bolt rear ends?
I never inspected an AWD talon/ eclipse but im about to in a little bit and i was wondering if i could find out if it had a 3 or 4 bolt rear end just by looking at it.

Look at the production date, no need to get under the car, and look for the extra bolt. If the date is 1/92 - 5/92 its a 4 bolt rear end, if its made after May it most likely has a 3-bolt rear and a 7-bolt engine. Before 92 it was a 3 bolt rear, and 6-bolt engine.
EDIT: This will be the case unless he had a 3-bolt swapped with a 4-bolt, but long as its a 6-bolt 1G you will be fine because you swap the 3-bolt out for a 4-bolt.
