I just recently installed a 3" MAF and water/alcohol injection kit. Over the past week I have tuned it the best I can with stock 450 injectors aand it seems to run great. What i was wondering is if anyone has expeirence tuning in the fine tuning portion of the MAFT in increments of 2%. When I tried to switch over, my car only ran for about 5 minutes before it would start coughing and dying  . I ended up switching back to standard mode. I have attached a 3rd gear pull with my current settings. Do they look good or do I need to mess with the fine tuning on the MAFT? Any feedback would be appreciated. my current setting on hte MAFT are:
Aux and base are set for 470cc inj.
Idl +10%
Mid + 5%
WOT - 15%
Boost on 3rd gear pull was at 17lbs. Water/Alcohol kicking in at 6lbs.

And yes I have read the instructions on http://www.fullthrottletech.com/showthread.php?t=105&highlight=maft+tuning

Thank you it took me about a 1/2 dozen attempts over a week period to dial it in. I only made one pull/day day on my way into work.

My mane concern was the .94 -.96 volts. Is this considered running rich? Should i just leave it there since Fine tuning seems to be difficult on the MAFT, at least on my first attempt. I guess, I could try bumping the boost another 1-2 psi, or would I be pushing it?

.94 is probably good, I leave my car at .96 just to be on the safe side...but every car is different.

You should probably just leave it. Once I get a tune that is good, I just leave it and don't mees with it. It's these people that strive to have a exactly perfect log that get frustrated by tuning.

Cool. I will leave it where it is and call it good. I appreciate your response. :thumb:

You could always raise boost a lil, but at 17psi on a t28, with stock injectors, it may be wise to leave it exactly as you have it.
Some bigger injectors and a FMIC would open that car up drastically to more power potential.

I think you are correct. I was trying to avoid spending the money right up front for the injectors and FMIC so that is why I went with the water/alcohol injection kit first to get boost up. Maybe in a few months I will go ahead and upgrade to 550's and a FMIC.

How did u get ur attachment to come up like thet? i did one and its just numbers. i log with digital logger program.

I did a print screen from my logging software. Then I saved it as a .JPG within photoshop. I believe there is a size limitation on the size of the picture attached so you may have to re-size it within 640 x 480 (can't remember). Then all I did was use the attach files option at the bottom under additional Options and it came up fine. Not sure what else to tell you.

I decide to try to do it this way because all the posts I had read in the past were always a pain to read because the columns never lined up.

Hope this helped :thumb:

thats why i asked, it looks nice the way u did it, i think i have digital camera software, wonder if that would work, im going to see if i have the software u have. tnx

That should work fine. I used pocket logger for logging and viewed it with the pocket logging viewer on my PC. Then I just did a printscreen and pasted it into photoshop which allows pasting from clipboard. PhotoShop Elements is what i use ($99)

where do you have the alcohol jets located at? after the MAFT or before? what size jets are you using and what kit is it? the reason i ask is because i havent seen anyone use the alcohol kit with a MAFT setup yet without messing up the MAFT.

In the throttle Body elbow right after the MAF. I have two 300 CC mounted about 90 degrees from each other in the elbow. Works real well with 100% methanol. It may be too much if you are running 50/50

After you switched over to RPM mode, did you zero it back out? If you dont zero out the settings after the switch, it will run like ass. I am in RPM mode right now on my MAFT and I have a pretty good tune with it.

With the ignition off. I would switch to RPM mode and then turn all the dials back to 0, including the auxiliary. i would then start the car up and it will run for about 5 minutes before it starts to act the same way it would if I had blown of the UICP. Will not accelerate or run.
