38 tial problems

i just put my tial 38 wastegate that i bought off tunners and have no idea what size spring is into it! so i put the wastegate on and my mbc and hooked it up to the lower nipple and turned the boost up and it stays at 14 psi. i get out of the car nad turn it up more and it stays at 14 psi . anyone one what this would be? wb asap thanks brandon

It's a 14psi spring in the wastegate. Try running the WG directly from your boost source, without the MBC to see what the spring pressure is.

You could also try PMing the person who sold it to you.

Or pop the top off to see the color and diameter of the spring.

Sounds like you may have a defective MBC. I've had them stick at a specific setting before. It happens.

You can only *safely* double the spring's pressure using a manual boost controller before goofy things begin happening to your boost. It's possible that there's a 5psi spring in that thing and 14psi is all it can handle before blowing open.
