350-375 horsepower Street Legal?

Hello, im a noobie to the dsm, I wanted to get at least 350 horsepower out of my 90' GST, I know I will have to get an lsd and all that stiff stuff to prevent my tires from spinning to much, (I had a honda and a spec v before I had my dsm) will I be able to remain street legal at these power levels? thanks a lot, Jesse

easily, i've seen 600hp dsm's that were street legal.

make sure you opt for high flow cat instead of test pipe though if you wanna keep it legal

Depending on WHAT STATE you live in, there are certain modifications that will make your car very NOT street legal. These things can range from too large of an intake to excessive exhaust noise. I've never heard of actual POWER limitations, as it would kind of be hard to test a cars power just by looking at it.

At 350hp, your easily be street legal, and in many cases, still have the option of daily driving the car.

as far as daily driving it goes, cant you always just turn down the boost and have a perfectly fine daily driver car? if im not mistaken 350-375 would only require 18-22 psi, and if you were to turn it down to 14 it would be tame as any other car out there.. unless you get like an act 2900 and a lightweight flywheel and all the other stuff that makes low speed driving a bi***...

Why would you be boosting so high? the Fmic, full exhaust and fuel sytem, ecu, ect ... would makle such high boost unessecary, Just free up the breathing and you get alot more power.

umm, well if a person's goal is to reach 350-375hp...I'm pretty sure they'll be running high boost. You'd have to have an amazing setup to make that kinda power at sub-14psi. "Freeing up the breathing" will provide no results close to 350-375hp..at least not that I'm aware of.

But maybe I've missed something entirely.

Your emissions will be higher than the vehicle was certified to be by the manufacturer, which is illegal in the United States. Not being tested doesn't make it "legal", just as driving 100 "when there's no one around" isn't legal.

It's "illegal" to "modify" the intake and exhaust systems on vehicles. But we realize that's not the question you're asking. And if you're in an area that doesn't require emissions testing, then you probably think breaking those laws is "okay".

What do you mean by "street legal"?
