If this is true, then tell him to have fun wasting his money. I have heard of people getting 550WHP+ out of the 4G63 with proper internal upgrades. It shouldn't take $45K, unless he just likes pissing away his money.

oh yeah...if it were me id save the money and put it into the 4g63...even if he did fit the vr4 in it would be quite of an increase in weight. about the $45k i didnt believe that part but if he had that much money he could just buy a 3kgt. i remember seein my friends vr4 and it looked pretty snug under the hood

The guy should have just purchased a brand new Z06 or M3 for the price of the mods and the GSX.

What a knob. What a lying knob.

Maybe he meant $45?

This subject has been brought up before. It is both pointless and worthless to swap the 2 engines. Why would anyone what to give up the best inline4 ever made? :thumb:

Its not an inline 4. And it shares "best ever" 4banger with the SR20DET.

I was under the impression the 4G63 is transversely mounted, not inline.

A Supra motor is an inline 6, mounted inline with the tranny.

Huh, last time I looked all the cylinders seem to be in a straightline, not to mention I have never seen a V4 in a car, ever.

I have been into cars for along time and no one everjust saves up a bunch of money, like 45k, to just dump into it. If they say they have then they are just making it up. He is a lying ricer that lives in a Honda world that requires swaps to be fast. When you buy a car that has a stout engine in the first place then you just add to it. i would call him on it and ask for as amny details as you can and I bet he will just say he isn't sure yet, or he will put it on someone else. "this guy I know he has done it and he will help me" or "If I told you and others then it would become common and I want to be different" Tell him when it is done you will give him props until them tell him to keep pretending he is Vin Diesel.

If this was the case then most V-8 would be considered inline. The I and V and even the boxer all come from the way the engine cylinders are placed, not the engine and transmission. The mounting is indeed transverse, but the engine is an Inline4.

45k no shit? For 45k shit I could have a drag talon and a new evo. 3 Kaaz lsd's = around 3000$ , tre built tranny = 3200$ , aluminum driveshafts = around 1000$? Raxles = around 600$ 2.3 stroker motor = around 2500-3000, fp3065 or red = 1300 , exhaust system = 700$ aem ems = 1500 , you get my drift. 45k can buy you alot better thinks than swapping a 3000gt vr4 engine in it. shit you could just get a supra off of ebay for 24k and put a single turbo and fmic with injectors and ems and have like 600whp and get it over with right there.
