I'm looking at getting a maf translator and gm mafs, should I go with a 3" or 3.5"? I currently have nothing to tune with and dont really have $$ for dsmlink etc. Current mods are ported Evo 3 Big 16G, ported megan racing o2 housing, megan 3"downpipe to 3 inch megan exhaust, apexi cold air intake, greddy type rs bov, exedy stage 2 clutch with prolite flywheel, 190 walboro, nxs boost controller. The maf translator seems as tho it would be good enough for me to "semi tune" in my budget, any input appreciated, thanx one other thing, extreme psi has 2 different harness extensions, one for gm side and one for translator side do I need them both, I assume one is to install the box inside the cab of the car

honestly IMO i would go with the the closes to the size intercooler pipe you are running like me I'm running a 2.5 IC pipe so I'm running a 3 inch... If you are panning on running it inside the car you will need both extension cables. i personally would recomend getting a pocket logger so you know whats going on with your engine while tring to tune otherwise your just blind tuning.

I have been looking for a pocketlogger for some time now but cant find one, even went to dsm parts catelogue on here, it has a pocketlogger in the list but does not have any vendor listed that sells them, anybody have a link on where to get one?

Check the classifieds. Usually someone is selling one with the appropriate cables for a decent price.

You can check craigslist or EBay. Just do a little research into what software you'll run, as some of the older PDA's don't support certain logging software.

There are tons of articles on this site about building your own cables and downloading your software for free.

Here's a couple to get started.

I run the 3.5" but thats what I got when I bought the kit. I run it on 2.5" IC piping which may actually cause it not to flow as well. IMO it doesnt madder and the difference is not noticeable.
