3" MAF: what is the diameter? LOL

Hey guys. I'm getting a 3" MAF in the mail this week, and I want to have my setup all ready for it. SO, I'm buying some silicone couplers. My question, what is the OUTSIDE diameter of a 3" MAF? Will a 3" coupler fit, or 3.25 or what? Thanks! I know it sounds like a dumb question.

Outside diameter is 3.25". The 3.25" couplers I have slide right over like they were meant to fit. Supposedly the 3" can be coerced to fit, but not sure how well that works out.

3" couplers will make you spurt out words you didnt know existed! :laugh: They will fit if you are persistant enough. Try to find 3.25" if at all possible!

Yes most 3" couplers are a bi*** to put on. On my first try i used Forced Performances 2.5"-3" couplers they didn't work at all on the 3" MAF. Then i ordered Turbonetics 2.5"-3" couplers and they worked well, they are a little bit tight but are possible to get on. If you have the option definatly get 3.25" ones.

FP sells 4 ply couplers, I think the turbonetics ones are 2 ply so they'd be more likely to be able to be stretched.

RRE tries to stock 2.5" to 3.25" but I think they sell out fast.

AMS can get nice 4-ply 2.5-3.25 couplers too. They got one for me 2 day air and the other one got left out and finally showed up after a month. I probably could have had it a week sooner (ground from east coast to west coast sucks), but they wanted me to pay for air freight again, even though sending this one out was to correct for their original mistake.

Sorry abour all that Brian. There was a huge miscomunication between us and our Silicone supplier. Trust me they got a piece of my mind. I Appoligize for you getting the brunt of it. I will send out the clamps express as soon as they come in for no charge to you. once again I do appoligize for the setback.

so does that meen that the 3.5" gm maf is 3.45"?
