does anyone know where to get a fairly good priced 3" turbo back exhaust for a 91 awd tsi or even a 2.5" turbo back exhaust i only found the megan and its 1400 new even a used system would b ok with me but i am not allowed into the market place yet

i built my exhaust system, I bought a 3" dp from ebay cxracing for 80$ ish, a "All flow cat" for 50$ siliconeintakes.com, Vibrant resonator for around 80$? on amazon, a single tip vibrant stealth muffler for 120$ on amazon, Vbands for 20$ on ebay. and piping plus install was about 200$, so I got a full 3" turbo back the way I wanted it for $550.

check ebay, OR id suggest checking out dsmtrader.com, you'll find a ton of parts there and I see a ton of exhaust systems for sale on there for pretty cheap used

Gotta love the auto right..Thanks man..But yes ebay would be a great place to get you exhaust..Except for the muffler..Ebay mufflers usually suck..They lack in sound dampening material..

Depending on what DP you have, they make them in cat detete and non cat delete..You could get an ebay catback and change the muffler..Or test pipe and cat back..

If you not into stainless then i say hit up some online sites for 3 inch tubing and build your own exhaust if you have the time and skills to fab. you will save some money and have a feel of accomplishment under your belt.

I couldnt imagine shipping being TOO much, even if were $100 for shipping, he would only be in $450 and he would have a spare downpipe, or he could sell the downpipe and get a little money back in his pocket.

It's still a significant savings yes..But size of the box does have a difference when shipping..I seen sumwhere here on tuners if the box has to go freight..It's almost always an extra 100 bux..

I have a Thermal Research and Development 3" Cat-back and I love it. I noticed an immediate decrease in spool up time with it installed. Best cat-back for a 1G DSM IMO.

I bought an o2 housing, and 3" down pipe on ebay for under $130 shipped,
10ft of straight pipe and 2 90degree mandrel bends for under $100,
and I put the biggest dynomax muffler that would fit on the end for $100,
so my custom 3" exhaust after welding everything up was under $400.

I dont see why the megan downpipe wouldnt bolt up to it, as long as its 2.5"-2.5" or 3"-3". Only thing that may be different is the hangers? which may cause the cat-back and downpipe (or test pipe / cat) flanges to not line up properly.

EDIT: The flanges could be different too, but I kind of doubt that.
