Is there any drawback on putting a full 3" exhaust on a stock 14b non-ported w/ stock o2?

Is it really possible for the stock 14b to get up to 20-25 psi, that's a redicuous amount of boost coming from the stock turbo, I never thought that the 14b was capable of getting more boost like that!!!

I have a 3inch exhaust all the way through with a Ported 14b, pushing 20psi with stock injectors. They are great turbos and I am trapping 107 miles without any cams and a passenger in the car LOL

readin on tuners and such i had always thought max boost was 23psi on the 14b

People maxxing them out on race gas have pushed them to 25 psi, no line to the wastegate at all. It doesn't stay there long. Hits it and starts a rapid decline. I've personally run 22 psi on my 14b on pump- by 6500 rpm it was down to 16 psi, though, so I shifted at a little past 6000/19 lbs boost. Trapped 108 on pump doing that but even with a decent-sized front mount and a bit of timing taken out, it still started to hit a bit of knock in 4th. I hate to think what the compressor outlet air temp was .

Obviously I don't recommend running that kind of pump gas boost on the 14b without a logger/ fuel and timing control/ a certain lack of concern for the well-being of your engine.

How could creep affect the tune(this i mean by what can't be tuned properly or poorly) and damage the motor and also, how bad would the damage be? And another thing that I've been thinking about is that how does it affect my performance to have a good exhaust system from the header all the way to the back vs running stock intercooler piping with stock intercooler. I know this seems like silly questions but I'm just trying to foresee the negatives of one upgrade vs another, pros and cons about them and what to expect, and also how to fix the problem! And again thanks for the good reply's!!

Its going to affect the tune since the boost wont hold steady. If you tune the car you tune it to a certain boost level. If you cant keep the same boost you will just start to knock. Creep sucks bad, its impossible to tune.

Wow, crazy issues on keeping stock turbo and o2 with a 3" exh. I recieved my vibrant highflow 3" metal core cat, anyone running those yet. I saw these cats and fell in love, it's a crazy looking cat and is proven for less restriction and circular flow exiting the exhaust.

t-25 is trash you can run as much boost on there as you want and you won't hurt anything. ran mine into the ground by boosting it to 30 and 25 psi. while it would do it that is well out of range for that turbo but it didn't hurt the engine at all. I wouldn't recomend doing that with a 14b because it is a much more powerful turbo.
