How much torque can the 3 bolt LSD rear end hold? I have just a stock 3 bolt in my galant, but I have a donor car with a 3 bolt LSD in it. I cant find a local 4 bolt rear, and this would be quicker and easier. I am just concerned as to when this starts to become a problem?
Thanks!

There's no magical XXX ft-lbs number of what it can hold. Depends on age, power being put through, and how hard you launch it. People have run some pretty hard launches and good times on the 3 bolt though, and if you are breaking 3 bolt rears, you may not break a 4 bolt, but you will be stressing it.

Im not really going to be launching it hardly if ever. Just looking for something that wont let go on me if its all in good condition. The car has a built bottom end matched with some BC 280s and a t3/t4oe hybrid, on 91 going to be e85 when I get around to the fuel system.

Can non-lsd axles fit in the lsd rear?

You must use lsd axles in a lsd rear end. From a roll you should be fine with the 3-bolt. I started breaking 3 bolt axles at around a 1.7 60". When they break this is what they do. Lots of material to clean out of the diff.

If your not going to be doing hard launches, I'm sure it will hold up just fine.

That worries me, I'm already at a 1.85 60' on a non-LSD 3 bolt.

Ive got a good buddy (Mr Peepers) that has over 500 awhp and around 470 ft/lbs torque and has seen many track launches.. Some hold some dont.. Just kind of have to get lucky I guess. Im sure if your not going to be doing a ton of hard launching you will be just fine.
