dude, its sad no1 else has posted ne thing as far as internals yet, but i promise if you upgraded to some lightweight rods & pistons, you would be VERY happy with the results. my car is stock except for the rods & pistons, and iv got the 1.8. and before ne1 says ne thing, iv smoked the shit out of a couple of 2.0s in my hometown runnin a ton of mods.

less engine weight = less resistance + more power

oh, and badass pistons will only run you about $700 for the set

As long as he stays within his goals, stock internals are enough to handle it. Just get a 16g setup and youll be happy. You don't need 400+ hp to run 12's.

Walbro 255 FP, Aeromotive FPR, 880-1080cc injectors,ACT2900, DSMlink, 50trim, 1g bov, ebay fmic & piping. I also recommend e85.

Enjoy your 400hp till something breaks.

yea if something breaks i might just be forced to through in a 6 bolt.. i have found a guy sellin one on ebay for dirt cheap but its just the short block.. I've also been hearing alot of bad things about this 7 bolt motor.. about the crank walk and wut not.. should i be cautious about the bottom end in this ride..

Some one please inform me of why light weight internals are good? Why would you just not make a N/A motor like 14:1 compression and put you a nice head, and some amazing cams in it? Is that what the Honduh people not do?

for those of us workin a 9-5, and not makin shit for money cause we live in some podunk retiree town with 3 night clubs and 1 small ass mall (am i on a rant??), throwin light weight high performance internals in our cars is the only thing possible, or affordable, on the short term.

payin bills is a bi*** :heystupid:

Well the issue with the 7 bolt crank is more with the 95 to 97 blocks since they have less surface area on the thrush washer than the 98-99 blocks do for theirs, they are also two piece(98-99). Also, the same galley feeds the thrush bearing and the oil squirters for the 95-97 blocks. That means that when a oil squirter valve sticks open, it robs the bearings of oil pressure. The 7 bolts also have weaker rods.

I am currently building my 95 block, I am just plugging the oil squirters since I am using wiseco pistons/eagle rods, and using ACL trimetal race bearings. Dont fear the 7 bolt. Just take the approporiate preventative measures.

Last I looked an upgrade to 4g63 internals was $750-$1000 for parts alone.

His stock 7bolt rods are lighter than anything in the aftermarket. Forged rods are heavy. All pistons are aluminum and forged pistons won't really make that much of a difference. Assuming he knows how to or is willing to install them himself, why would he be better off 'reducing the weight' of his rotating mass for $900, when he could almost but Link AND a turbo upgrade for that total?

bolton hx35 $600
Link $600
Eprom $200
1150cc injectors $300
Walbro 255hp $100
AFPR $175
ARP headbolts $90
FMIC kit $300-$800
Water/meth injection (if planning on running pumpgas) $300

Close to $3000 right there.

Internals are a complete waste of money for what he wants.

I read this whole thing and i don't think i saw anything being said about a clutch upgrade.....you definitely want to take that into consideration.

Internals are a complete waste of money for what he wants.

But he said different. And his expertise is in the funnie way to make syllabic structure out of fewer letters and lack of resources because of living in a rural community is what lends to his mechanical assembly understanding and prowess in automotive performance.:heystupid:
