I have a 92 laser rs. It has 23 splines on t-case. The t-case is bad but I found a 2nd gen t-case for cheap. From what I understand all 2nd gen t-cases are 23 splines. Can I put a 2nd gen t-case on a 1st gen?

Thx,
Dan

So they are the exact same I dont have to change anything? I mean I cant think of anything id have to change but as long as they are same size sweet.

ONLY if its a 95-96.5 Transfer case. The 96.5+ have different gearing in them and will cause you to burn up the diff in your trans.

96.5+ xcase's must be used with a 96.5+ trans.

How can you tell if a 2g t-case is from 95-96 or a 97-99 car? Is there an easy way to ID it?
