Ok so what would cause it to be hard to find. all the other gears 1st 3rd 4th 5th and reverse are all there but 2nd is way at the bottom of the shifter throw. sometimes i will think its in gear and give it gas but its not other times it will get in gear. I was doing some racing friday night and it was after that, that i started having problems. previouosly the syncros werent very bad.

also i can put it in the 2nd position but not all the way in and the shifter will stay in that position even if its not in gear.( i can feel the position of the gear but it isnt actaully in)

is it a bent shift fork or rail??? i dont know much about trannies and was hoping this one would make it through the summer. Also this is when im normaly driving not when im on it or anything. also i adjusted my linkages today and my clutch. and the shifter bushings that go on the tranny are brand new.

also i missed 3rd a few times pretty bad dont know if that would cause it.

ya that really does sound like it. thanks for the response. so who should i look to for tranny rebuilds on a budget but obviously not a stock rebuild i have a knack for breaking trannies.
