2G 2gNT Trans swap auto to man

I have a 98 eclipse with a auto trans and want to swap a trans from a 96 donor. I know how to with all the mechanical parts. What do I need to know about the ecu? I'm not 100% sure what needs to be done there. What do I need from the donor car When is come to the electrical side?
Do I need to swap the whole electrical harness and ecu? I'm sure this has been brought up before sorry I can't find a thread that talks about this.

What specific sub model is your car? Turbo models have a different trans than the non-turbo models. The principle of the swap is essentially the same but the required parts will be greatly different.
