I know I'm probably adding to the many similar questions but can't really find a clear answer.

I'm looking to replace my suspension all the way around from the stock ones on my daily. I want to lower it by maybe an inch, front and back from stock. I'm looking at coilovers but I know they can be hit or miss depending on the person and their preference on ride quality and I have no idea which brands are good and which are complete garbage. Just looking for the best ride possible without spending my life savings LOL. Roads around me are the worst roads I've ever driven on but I guess that makes sense since it's Michigan.

Or should I just save my money and throw stock all the way around?

The setups I find best at a modest price point for 2G's are 1) the DG Koni (which is piece together). I believe Jay's racing was the vendor providing these; or 2) might want to look at the Flatout Suspension setup. They're using Monotube damper (Bilstien) rather than twin-tube like all the rest of the coilover option designs.

If you're not looking to spend much and have a semi-smooth riding daily I would just get OE replacement struts and lowering springs. The main things about coilovers are the height adjustability and stiff spring rates (and they're shiny, whatever). You can just buy 1.5" lowering springs and fresh struts and be done with it. If it were a track build or show car I'd say go with the coilovers but not for practicality purposes.

I'll probably end up doing stock with lowering springs then since it sounds closer to what I'm looking for on a daily driver. And I don't care about how they look since nobody will see them anyways. Thanks

Lowering the ride height with the OE setup will end up hitting the bump stops a lot with a harsher ride. If running OE the ride will be better at the manufacturer designed ride height.

I had a friend who told me this same thing about running lowering springs and struts instead of just going with full coilovers since it's not gonna be as good of a setup as full coils will be in the long run. I agree, coilovers would be the better investment!

Are you looking to improve handling or are you just interested in a lowered car?
Improved handling get good struts.
Lowered, get lowered springs. Ride will suck.
Improved handling and lowered with good ride. Get both.
Need height adjustability and choice of spring rates? Get coilovers

Good, fast, cheap. Pick two.

There are some nice coilovers but they get pricey quick depending on the brand. I can say that the tokico blue struts and springs treat me really good! Reasonably priced and hold up alot better then the factory suspension. Im very particular at avoiding pot holes or bumps and never had an issue with them. They dramatically improved the overall ride handling and looks. I got the ingalls rear camber kit as they are 1.8 inches lower then factory height and non adjustable.
