2GB Not Starting. No Clicking, Good Battery.

Basically... my mom found my spare key and decided to move my car. After she moved it, she called me and said it wouldn't start. Greeat

Everything worked perfectly beforehand. Battery is an Optima Redtop which is fairly new. There's no clicking noise, but there is a loud whine when you put the key in the 'start' position. Engine doesn't try to turn over.

I'm guessing it would be the starter or it's relay? Which should I try to replace first, if either?

try to push start it with some friends. That'll tell you if its even a starter related problem. If nothing, check for spark and go from there. Good luck...

Check your fuses. The starter fuse. When you turn it to on, the fuel pump go on, lights work, but just doesnt want to turn over? If so, this happened to me, check the fuse.

Grounds are good... fuses all look to be okay.

Both mt dads cars just did this 2 days ago. Started minutes before then went out to go and nothing....no chug or noises, just the faint whine you stated. We have full power and everything.

A very good speed shop suggested starter soleniod on the starter. I my self though Ignition switch OR neutral safty switch.

Did you try to "trick start it"? touch the large power port on the starter to the other port that is usually smaller. It should spark alittle and the starter should fire, but if you want to start the car this way have the key to the on position and then hold the clutch in with a baseball bat. MAKE SURE ITS IN NEUTRAL. touch the 2 together untill the car fires up, then remove what you used for the onnection. What I did from there was got a ignition puch button switch from autozone and made my dads car a pushbutton by running wires from each of those ports to the 2 on the switch. Id say just to TRY Jump starting it, it may help

On a friend of mines honda.. His Ignition Just went within seconds, he went to move his car, then he turned it off, had to move again ### my mom was commin home

Car wouldnt start, Turned over and everything..

Took off a plug wire, stuck a screw driver in the end.. held by a valve cover nut, and no spark... had to replace the whole distributor..

IF the car is turning over then its not the starter,

Check spark

Then try jumping it..

If it is whining and not engaging, then possible bad starter drive. The starter won't turn over till the solenoid pulls in. This throws the drive into the ring gear on the flywheel. If it's whistling and not turning over, take the starter to a starter shop to have it checked out.

I got a new starter w/ solonoid and it started right up
