Fellas... I have a 2G with a fairly built 6 bolt, 50 trim, and 660's getting set up. I am wondering if it is a must to have an external fpr setup for the car, and what would be needed for this if manadatory. I am told by some I need a bung welded into the stock rail for the external line kit. Without this welding I know it would be pretty straightforward to install. Let me know your input please. And thank you.

You don't need anything welded to the rail, just buy an AN adapter for the rail. It's bolt on.

Depending on the Fuel Pump you have is relevent to whether you need a AFPR or not. If you run a Walbro 190 pump, then no, a AFPR is not mandatory. If you run a Walbro 255 or higher, then 90% of the people out there will say a AFPR is mandatory if you don't plan on overrunning you stock FPR.

So, which fuel pump do you have?

As for you fitting question. You CAN drill and tap the rail to accept a -8 fitting, and weld it on, or JB weld it on, or you can simply purchase a stock rail to -6 adapter fitting from vendors such as SBR, etc.

I run the DSMparts Bolt on fuel pressure regualtor, paired with a summit fuel pressure gauge. Great set up only cost me about 180, and its nice to just bolt it to the rail and go.

Aeromotive here, and loving it so easy to install and adjust. Makes tuning eaiser also :D

I saw in your list of mods that you included a Walbro 255lph HP fuel pump. If this is accurate, then you will definitely need an adjustable FPR. I also like what I've read regarding the Aeromotive AFPR. If I ever buy an AFPR, I plan on going with Aeromotive as well.:thumb:

Aeromotive, only one proven over and over again, and is not questioned ANYWHERE as to wether it works. Full Throttle Speed is still questioned.

I like the way you can also mount the gauge and afpr anywhere with the aeromotive instead of the bolt-on kits.
