I am new to the 1g's so I wanted to ask what axles and driveshaft did you use when swapping a 2g trans in a 1g (I have searched for this question but keep finding mixed answers)? Do I only switch cups, do I need to swap shafts, or can I use 1g or 2g axles?

And for those that may wonder why I am doing this, the trans is a shep stage 3 and I would like to have a built trans with my 2.3L and a 23 spline tcase.

Lastly, Is there anything else that is needed? I know I am going to have to swap speed sensor and get a mount for passenger side trans mount, but if there’s anything else I need to be aware of, please let me know!

You need AWD 1g axles. The inner cups are the same spine. The difference is length 1g vs 2g. FWD this is NOT true. There are differences depending on year.

Well that makes it easy since I have 1g axles. Now as for the driveshaft, would I still use a 1g driveshaft? That’s one thing I could not find for the life of me.

Shifter gonna need work too.
I saw the one that moves left and right on the trans is going to need to be bent and the selector swapped for a 1g. Correct me if I’m wrong though.

Yes you would keep your 1g driveshaft.

Also, there are 2 different ratios on 2g transmissions, 2ga and 2gb, 2ga would work with your 1g tcase, 2gb requires the matching tcase with the proper ratio.
